Bio: 

Claire Herhold is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Western Michigan University. Her dissertation title is "In Search of an Authentic Past: Negotiating Authenticity in Living History Interpretation" and her supervising professor is Dr. Mitch Kachun.

Herhold was born and raised in Hartland, Michigan. She studied history at Saginaw Valley State University and completed the thesis, "A Most Important Command: Colonel Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Massachusetts." Herhold has over thirteen years of experience in museum education and living history interpretation.
