General summary
Manages the freshman recruitment process and admission scholarship program.
Major duties
- Coordinates regional assignments of recruiters and travel and college fair calendar. Initiates and monitors special programs, events and presentations to ensure institutional presence and recognition in the marketplace.
- Serves as a primary liaison for high school counselors and institutional partners. Oversees a timely and accurate communication plan.
- Establishes an annual strategic plan for recruitment and yield activity to meet goals. Develops process improvement plans and monitors reports weekly to track progress towards goals.
- Maintains collaborative partnerships with college recruiters and key university partners who oversee recruitment activities for specific constituencies, including underrepresented and special populations.
- Oversees admissions scholarship program. Ensures that scholarship practices support admission outcomes.
- Serves as chair for the application review committee. Acts in consultation with admissions director to determine outcomes of special circumstances.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises admissions recruiters and a scholarship specialist.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years’ relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
