General summary

Instructs senior-level art students in design techniques and in completing design projects.

Major duties

  • Instructs students in proper procedures of preparing projects using electronic and traditional techniques. Coordinates pre-press production of design center projects.
  • Plans and directs the work activities and resources necessary for facilitating design center projects in accordance with cost, quality and quantity speculations.
  • Assists students in taking design projects from conception to completion.
  • Develops instructional materials, coordinates educational content and incorporates technology in graphic design practice to provide guidelines to design center professor.
  • Performs maintenance and repair on computers and equipment.
  • Instructs students in computer programming.
  • Performs other duties such as press checks, vendor errands and deliveries.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years’ relevant experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
