General summary

Develops prospecting, recruiting and yield activities in order to support institutional enrollment goals and priorities.

Major duties

  • Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of all departmental recruitment and yield programs and events in order to enhance the institution’s ability to attract new and talented students. Implements a data driven admission plan that enhances success in meeting institutional goals.
  • Provides oversight in the monitoring and development of strategic data for relevant analysis of comparative trends and responsive strategies to modify and adjust immediate, short- and long-term recruitment strategies.
  • Implements a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that effectively utilizes technology and both traditional and cutting edge digital platforms in order to increase institutional brand recognition in the marketplace.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with senior institutional leaders, deans, faculty, student affairs and enrollment management professional staff in order to promote institutional success.
  • Builds and maintains external partnerships with high schools, community colleges and other relevant external partners in order to advance recruitment opportunities.
  • Oversees the evaluation, development and monitoring of all admission policies, practices and procedures in order to ensure effective and efficient admission operations.
  • Manages the department’s annual budget, resource allocations and expenditures.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff.
  • Serves as primary spokesperson for the Office of Admissions in all internal and external communications.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Eight years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
