General summary

Maintains radio broadcasting equipment in compliance with FCC regulations. Records in-studio and local performances for broadcast.

Major duties

  • Manages and maintains administrative, production and satellite systems including software and hardware. May install, terminate and troubleshoot premise cabling.
  • Produces programs for air. Coordinates schedules of talent and equipment, directs talent as required.
  • Supports and maintains files servers, client work stations, operating systems and application software. Deploys new software applications. Serves as point person for web streaming vendors and the Office of Information Technology.
  • Manages WMUK recording calendar including assessment of venue, scheduling and coordinating equipment and labor resources.
  • Manages and maintains the Takeda performance studio including all equipment and the calendar.
  • Serves as a back-up to the chief engineer as required.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with FCC regulations.
  • Working knowledge of electronic principles and troubleshooting practices, including broadcast computers and networks.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
