General summary
Directs the operations of Center for Academic Success Programs.
Major duties
- Establishes direction and provides oversight for multiple academic success offices.
- Provides leadership in the on-going and development of programs, policies and practices that meet the needs of students, staff, faculty and community partners. Develops and implements short and long-term plans for the department. Researches trends and best practices for use in long term planning.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.
- Plans and evaluates academic support programs and services ensuring compliance with policies, laws, rules and regulations. Represents the center while collaborating with other University-wide efforts.
- Creates and oversees various campus retention efforts and campaigns.
- Monitors and approves budgets.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of the University’s academic programs and requirements.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
