General summary

Ensures customer success through strategic planning and operational management of the faculty services unit within information technology.

Major duties

  • Analyzes industry trends and best practices to establish strategic direction for services, including the development of unit strategic plans, policies and procedures, standards, long-term and short-term strategies, resources requirements, and goals.
  • Develops and manages related projects and team with responsibility for all phases of project management, including planning, negotiating, scheduling, communicating, training, consulting, development, installing, evaluating, and problem-solving.
  • Serves as member on various committees, including but not limited to instructional technology committee, eLearning changes control committee, academic information technology council, and commencement committee.
  • Establishes duties and objectives, critical success factors, training plans, and career goals for supervised staff through leadership, mentoring, training, advising, evaluation, and supervision.
  • Provides expertise and leadership in the services and resources assigned.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements and policy changes that ensure services and standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Provides input into the support services budgeting process. Recommends financial decisions specific to related resources and services.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strategic planning experience.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituents.
  • Working knowledge of a diverse suite of educational technologies, including classroom technologies, lecture capture technologies and online learning systems.

Desired qualifications

Desired experience

  • Accessibility and ADA compliance experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
