Senior Director Corporate and Foundation Relations

General summary
Builds and implements a development plan in order to strengthen existing relationships and build new partnerships with corporations and foundations for the University.
Major duties
- Develops proposal grant requests, partnership appeals, letters, emails and other fundraising communication to support corporate and foundation engagement.
- Identifies and promotes relationships with corporate and foundation prospects and donors in support of established fundraising priorities.
- Alerts faculty and staff on funding opportunities. Assists in the development of strategies and tactics including, proposals in order to obtain grants.
- Organizes various offices across the University to interact effectively and efficiently with external corporate and foundation funders.
- Serves as a University advocate in the community for local leaders, corporate and foundation partners and other key constituents.
- Works with University leaders, deans and other academic leaders to identify funding priorities and build related cases for support targeted to corporate or foundation support.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success in grant-writing.
- Strong research skills.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of external as well as internal constituents including board members, faculty, staff and senior management.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
