General summary
Leads a team of transfer recruiters, manages a recruitment territory and works with University partners to ensure articulations and transfer guides are created and used effectively to ensure smooth transitions to the University.
Major duties
- Manages the development and implementation of strategies to recruit and enroll transfer students in support of transfer enrollment and retention goals. Conducts research on application activity and analyzes market trends to formulate recruitment and yield strategies.
- In collaboration with department senior leadership, sets numerical application and enrollment goals. Develops and oversees the execution of initiatives designed to accomplish enrollment goals. Assess strategy effectiveness.
- Partners with team members who develop and maintain online transfer guides. Coordinates process to strategically complete and use articulation policies and agreements to recruit and enroll transfer students.
- Develops and implements operational policies and procedures related to the recruitment and yield of transfer students. Oversees the implementation of practices and procedures to ensure University compliance with the statewide transfer agreement.
- Oversees the development and implementation of a communication plan to support transfer recruitment strategies. Interprets and communicates University transfer admission policies to both internal and external customers including students, parents, faculty and staff, admissions professionals and community college advisors and administrators.
- Manages transfer recruitment territory. Serves as a primary representative to recruit and yield students. Reviews applications and makes admission decisions. Builds and maintains relationships with community colleges and their entities.
- Hires, trains and supervises transfer recruiters.Serves as a resource, interprets issues and problem-solves transfer-related issues.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Significant knowledge of admissions, transfer, recruitment and enrollment issues.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
Required other
- Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desired qualifications
Desired education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Desired experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the University's academic programs.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
