General summary
Provides event planning services.
Major duties
- Provides event planning services for all University corporate, community and social events, including but not limited to weddings, class reunions and anniversaries, ensuring high quality service.
- Processes all paperwork through final billing for clients.
- Ensures the facility and department is in compliance with all local and state health codes and laws.
- Hires, trains and supervises staff and student employees. Resolves personnel issues.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Associate's degree or two years' college coursework in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
