General summary
Supervises an information technology laboratory, ensuring access and support to users in the college, division, or University.
Major duties
- Hires, trains, and evaluates performance of student staff. Prepares work schedules which ensure trained staff are available during all laboratory hours.
- Develops programs or documentation for end-user services. Provides end-user support.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures to provide reliable access and support to authorized users of the information technology laboratory.
- Maintains supplies and equipment. Installs software, hardware, and peripherals.
- Ensures the reliability and security of the department's information technology resources and compliance with the University's standards.
- Provides project management in a lead role.
- Prepares reports and summaries of laboratory usage, services, and equipment.
- Provides technical support to end users.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience
- Experience with servicer administration. Experience creating and implementing professional standards and practices.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
