General summary
Provides engineering support for assigned construction and maintenance projects.
Major duties
- Prepares detailed project plans, budget, drawings and specifications under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
- Monitors project progress and maintains project records. Ensures compliance with budget and contract specifications and applicable safety and building codes.
- Inspects work to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Conducts field investigations and prepares summaries or reports of data.
- Works with maintenance staff to conduct on-site technical inspections. Identifies problems related to standard engineering practice.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year’s relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is performed with exposure to any number of elements which may occasionally require some precautions such as safety glasses, protective clothing, ear protection, etc.
