General summary
Coordinates comprehensive and inclusive programming, workshops, student leadership opportunities, events, retention, and co-curricular support services for eligible students.
Major duties
- Establishes program goals by providing recommendations regarding problems and issues beyond the set limits of procedures and practices.
- Provides support services such as developing action plans, co-curricular support services.
- Analyzes and collects data to lead projects to ensure quality services of student success.
- Assesses student support needs to determine appropriate actions such as referral or direct service.
- Teaches First Year Experience and other related courses.
- Adheres to University policies and procedures and legislative regulations.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Experience working with low income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. Teaching and advising experience in higher education.
- Proven knowledge of assessment methods, college student development theory, mentoring theory and practice, and program development and evaluation.
- Proven Organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
Required other
- Ability to travel for on-location reporting and to work on outdoor assignments.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
