General summary

Provides leadership for all functions of the Office of Student Conduct. Ensures that students’ rights are protected and University behavior standards are enforced.

Major duties

  • Administers the student code of conduct. Directs overall operations of the student conduct process for the University, including investigating behavioral concerns, tracking student conduct reports and coordinating the student conduct appeal process for the institution.
  • Manages and facilitates the academic integrity process for the University. Serves as an intermediary between faculty and students in academic integrity cases.
  • Trains and educates the University community on the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity process, current legal parameters, fundamental fairness and due process.
  • Organizes and generates reports for assessment measures for the department. Implements a comprehensive assessment plan to measure student learning.
  • Collaborates with various University departments to facilitate effective communication and ensure fulfillment of the student code procedures.
  • Researches current legal issues, academic integrity, trends in higher education and student conduct. Implements best practices.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills, including active listening.
  • Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to student conduct and academic integrity.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
