General summary
Generates new business opportunities through corporate and community outreach for the University’s athletic club.
Major duties
- Promotes the athletic club to business and service organizations in order to generate new business opportunities.
- Recruits, maintains and instructs personal fitness clientele in an individual, dual or group setting.
- Oversees fitness facility operations, ensuring a safe, clean, well-organized and aesthetically pleasing environment. Oversees repair and maintenance of all fitness equipment.
- Collaborates with other management on equipment needs and purchases.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
Required other
- Professional certification in a fitness related field.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
