Electronic Resource Specialist

General summary
Enables and maintains access to the library’s electronic resources via the integrated library system.
Major duties
- Manages and updates active databases, electronic collections and portfolios in the integrated library system. Reports discrepancies.
- Provides support for electronic resources, faculty, staff and students. Recommends, downloads and implements software. Advises and trains users and troubleshoots hardware and software compatibility issues.
- Maintains vendor administrative and statistical data. Manages usage statistics in integrated library system in order to evaluate electronic resources. Generates, analyzes and evaluates reports for departments leads, faculty and library administrators.
- Collaborates with service providers, publishers, vendors, the University community and department faculty and staff in order to ensure seamless access to electronic resources.
- Manages locally created electronic collections, including importing, deleting and updating portfolios. Communicates with members of metadata team as new collections need cataloging.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of integrated library software, applications and content management systems and standards.
- Knowledge of relevant web programming languages.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
