General summary

Responsible for the production of highly-visible university videos for recruitment and retention of University students.

Major duties

  • Produces professional videos while adhering to University branding standards to service University staff and administration, including: promotional, recruitment, marketing, departmental, live-streaming, and event coverage.
  • Operates and maintains video and audio recording equipment at production locations or in production studios.
  • Assists faculty with producing professional videos for instructional purposes. Teaches students video production and editing techniques for class projects.
  • Plans and conducts video workshops and training for University faculty.
  • Prepares and obtains approval of project budgets.
  • Hires, trains and evaluates performance of part-time staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Advanced digital technology skills.

Required other

  • Must be available to manage productions outside of normal business hours or at off-campus locations.

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Desired other

  • Relevant industry certification.

Physical requirements

Moderate work occasionally working in difficult position or with physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials from 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving materials greater than 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
