General summary

Manages the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide administrative applications by providing complex technical expertise and leadership to support multiple mission-critical enterprise applications for the University.

Major duties

  • Manages and develops cross-functional projects and teams in the implementation of complex large-scale enterprise resource planning software installations and related projects, with responsibilities for all phases of the project management life cycle.
  • Provides functional and technical expertise and leadership to guide all aspects of the human resources information systems product lines.
  • Collaborates with hardware, software vendors, and third-party utilities. Communicates and collaborates with cross-functional team building through advanced time and project management and resource planning.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements and policy changes that ensure services and standards comply with internal policies and industry standards across technical and functional areas.
  • Analyzes industry trends and best practices to establish strategic direction for administrative applications.
  • Establishes duties and objectives, critical success factors, training plans, and career goals for supervised staff.
  • Recommends financial decisions that impact administrative applications and infrastructure through participation in the department leadership team.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution or Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field from an accredited institution combined with relevant experience.

Required experience

  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience developing programming standards.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Vendor management experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well lit temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
