General summary
Administers the corporate purchase card program and travel operations for the university. Participates in the development of technical platforms that support the department.
Major duties
- Directs the staff and operations for disbursements. Provides backup support for the associate director of the department.
- Provides training on departmental policies and procedures to the campus community.
- Resolves complex questions and issues related to the departments’ programs. Investigates errors, diagnoses problems, and recommends solutions. Serves as the department leader, coordinating production for system upgrades, maintenance, reports, and enhancements.
- Develops and implements procedures and policies in accordance with governmental agency and regulatory mandates.
- Ensures quality delivery of customer support to the campus community and the technical platforms used in the department such as the website and phone systems.
- Manages the corporate procurement card and travel program for the university including the negotiation and administration of program contracts.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required experience
- Three year’s relevant experience.
- Experience in accounts payable, disbursements and payroll operational functions and technical system support.
- Spreadsheet proficiency and accounting systems experience.
- Supervisory experience or experience providing guidance to students or other employees.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with the minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
