General summary

Supports departmental operations, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchase Card, and Travel Card programs, while helping develop and maintain technical platforms for Payroll and Disbursements.

Major duties

  • Provides operational support for departmental staff and functions. Serves as the primary backup to leadership.
  • Ensures quality delivery of customer support to the campus community. Coordinates production, system upgrades, maintenance, reporting, and enhancements.
  • Processes, reconciles and records transactions.
  • Maintains, creates, and files tax reporting records for miscellaneous payments and nonemployee compensation, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with federal tax regulations.
  • Resolves complex questions and issues related to the departments’ programs. Investigates errors, diagnoses problems, and recommends solutions.
  • Develops and implements procedures and policies in accordance with governmental agency and regulatory mandates.
  • Provides training on departmental policies and procedures to the campus community.
  • Manages the corporate procurement card and travel program for the university including the negotiation and administration of program contracts.
  • Hires, trains and evaluates student employees

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution, equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required experience

  • Five year’s relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience in accounts payable, disbursements, payroll operational functions and technical system support.
  • Experience with reconciliation, reporting, system testing and configuration.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with the minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
