General summary

Coordinates the use of student information systems for the Office of Admissions. Oversees and maintains data integrity.

Major duties

  • Performs needs assessment activities and collaborates with information systems personnel to assist with development of new or enhanced databases. Utilizes new software and instructs internal staff and institutional clients in software applications. Resolves operational issues.
  • Ensures accuracy of data being interfaced in University systems.
  • Coordinates and administers the delivery of publications, including brochures, mail promotions and other marketing materials in collaboration with information technology.
  • Responds to inquiries and investigates and resolves problems related to student records handled by the department. Serves as liaison with other departments or units in the resolution of student records within the student information system.
  • Monitors, analyzes and ensures the data integrity of student recruitment database records. Reviews validation tables and recommends modifications. Creates and maintains communications used in recruitment and oversees various aspects of letter generation.
  • Remains current on regional and national trends and data in student admissions.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Associate's degree or two years' college coursework in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with using and querying databases and entering and tracking data.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
