General summary

Develops and implements policies and practices for service learning and community engagement.

Major duties

  • Collaborates with faculty, community and government agency directors to integrate service learning into the curriculum.
  • Develops service learning projects that place students with community organizations in order for students to meet community-identified needs while practicing course learning objectives.
  • Plans and implements co-curricular community service and volunteer initiatives, including developing and presenting seminars and forums.
  • Develops and manages projects for staff, students and community partners. Coordinates the marketing, promotions and public relations for the center.
  • Prepares University, state and national award applications. Coordinates the preparation of grant proposals. Solicits support letters from stakeholders.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
