General summary

Provides treatment services for clients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions and other behavioral health difficulties.

Major duties

  • Provides behavioral health screening, intake, evaluation, assessment and treatment planning.
  • Provides individual and group treatment and intervention services and referrals to and from outside agencies as needed.
  • Identifies and reports issues and concerns about and from clients, funding agencies, referral agents and clinicians.
  • Participates in program development, design and implementation for the clinic’s behavioral health services.
  • Supervises and monitors clinical staff to ensure treatment services comply with acceptable clinical processes, contractual requirements of funders and industry standards in the absence of the director.
  • Trains, evaluates and supervises clinical staff and student interns.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Experience in working directly with criminal justice populations, including individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders and behavioral health difficulties.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
