General summary
Directs the operations of the LBGT office at the University.
Major duties
- Directs all aspects of the LBGT student services office. Resolves personnel and operational issues. Implements policies and procedures for the department. Advises and directs students, faculty and staff on LBGT matters.
- Manages business operations and financial resources. Develops and monitors unit budget, reconciles accounts and provides financial reports. Develops and executes resource development strategy.
- Develops events and educational modules. Advises the University community to implement institutional LBGT diversity and inclusion policies and best practices.
- Collaborates with other University department staff to ensure LBGT inclusive excellence to support University recruitment and retention strategies. Collaborates with community stakeholders and partner agencies to provide LBGT inclusive programming and support.
- Advises student organizations, provides co-curricular learning and leadership opportunities and supports LBGT inclusive student engagement.
- Executes University performance objectives as outlined by the University's strategic plan and the diversity and multiculturalism action plan.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
