General summary
Provides strategic leadership for programs and services that promote academic success, student thriving, and inclusive engagement. Directs a campus center focused on supporting students and oversees components of the student development model.
Major duties
- Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services of assigned special program or grant.
- Manages and executes assigned components of the program model, such as leadership development, academic guidance, social connection, or coaching, to deliver an integrated and holistic student experience.
- Maintains relationships with both internal and external entities to enhance programs and services within the unit. Collaborates with the university and community for continuity of service.
- Manages program budgets and prepares financial reports to ensure fiscal accountability in alignment with departmental, institutional, and funding requirements. Identifies and pursues new funding opportunities to enhance and sustain programming.
- Engages with program scholars to foster a strong sense of belonging and enhance overall program effectiveness. Provides support to affiliated student organizations.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Budget management experience.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
