General summary

Provides analyses and reports to support planning and assessment of University programs and services.

Major duties

  • Documents requirements for standard and ad hoc analyses and reports.
  • Selects appropriate software applications, data sets, statistical methods and report formats to ensure analyses meet requirements.
  • Recommends the design and programming of business intelligence tools such as dashboards, data displays and other analytical tools.
  • Provides training to end-users or develops programs or documentation for end-user training. Provides end user support.
  • Audits primary databases for accuracy and compliance with University standards.
  • Participates in University project teams and work groups to improve data availability and usage.
  • Ensures the security and confidentiality of data and reports.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or a Bachelor’s degree in a non-related field from an accredited institution combined with relevant experience.

Required experience

  • Two years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Database and data warehouse programming experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well lit temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
