General summary

Responsible for managing the University’s central marketing function and for overseeing the central advertising and media buying efforts, marketing strategy and constituent management across the enterprise. Responsible for brand development, ensuring brand and message consistency and increasing the impact and reach of the University's presence in the marketplace.

Major duties

  • Manages, directs and creates advertising strategies and materials.
  • Oversees the University’s branding initiative and related training. Provides leadership to the integrated marketing team and provides guidance for institutional marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborates with graphic design, media relations, electronic communication professionals and external media vendors on communication and marketing initiatives.
  • Directs and executes media purchasing, including negotiation of media rates and placement.
  • Conducts marketing research internally and with third-party services.
  • Directs all video projects for University Relations and consults on video projects for other campus units.
  • Manages projects and programs as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years’ relevant experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting/moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors and/or any number of elements.
