General summary
Provides leadership, supervision and mentorship to Hall Directors, Graduate Assistant Hall Directors, and Residence Assistants in multiple residence halls. May assist with break housing operations. May oversee and execute conference operations including hiring training and supervising conference staff.
Major duties
- Assists Hall Directors with oversight of their residence halls and provides guidance with current events.
- Coordinates development of training for residence hall staff. Oversees performance and discipline processes for these employees.
- May direct and manage all conference related activities, including but not limited to planning, developing staffing, budgeting, billing and financial reporting. Responsible for coordination and collaboration with other vested departments.
- May maintain current conference client contracts as well as marketing and promoting for new conference client opportunities.
- May assist with readying apartments for new staff member arrival. May assist with marketing and promotional materials for recruitment purposes.
- Overseas departmental committees and other project work as required.
- Works with third party administrators.
- Serves on the on-call emergency duty rotation. Responds to and follows up with emergency or crisis situations.
- May oversee break housing operations in collaboration with invested departments.
- Develops and implements staffing related policies and procedures. Responsible for all recruiting, hiring, and personnel issues for residence hall staff.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience
- Supervisory experience.
- Full time Residence Hall Director experience.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Formal training and experience in crisis intervention and conflict management.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends, holidays and on-call.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
