General summary
Directs the College Assistance Migrant Program at the University.
Major duties
- Establishes program direction. Provides leadership and oversees administration and implementation of all programs and services of the University’s College Assistance Migrant Program.
- Ensures financial and budgetary accountability of the program and seeks new funding opportunities to enhance programming.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with federal guidelines and regulations as well as University and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures that all program goals and objectives are met.
- Facilitates and oversees collection of all program data. Completes and submits all program evaluations and reports to stakeholders.
- Maintains relationships with the U.S. Department of Education, external partners, agencies and advisory boards.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience grant writing and grant administration.
- Experience working with a diverse college student population.
- Budget management experience.
Required other
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
