General summary
Coordinates the comprehensive academic, financial, and supportive services for the College Assistance Migrant Program participants.
Major duties
- Provides comprehensive academic guidance to program participants, including performing periodic assessments and monitoring progress.
- Assists with the implementation of all educational and supportive services activities. Coordinates educational excursions and provides workshops.
- Collaborates with relevant University staff in developing strategies to support Latinx and other underrepresented student populations on campus.
- Maintains participant’s records and collects data necessary for all reports and evaluations.
- Assists in the development of retention strategies and researches best practices.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with appropriate University departments as well as external agencies. Presents the program's best practices and effectiveness to national conferences and the University community.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Experience working with a diverse college student population.
Required other
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to travel
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
