General summary

Coordinates aircraft staging and fueling and maintains the building and grounds for the College of Aviation.

Major duties

  • Reviews flight operation schedules and assigns tasks to ensure aircraft are refueled or moved to work areas to meet operation requirements.
  • Assures strict compliance with all safety regulations, requirements and standards. Participates in weekly operation meetings and safety meetings.
  • Records fuel usage and prepares annual reports.
  • Inspects buildings, equipment and grounds areas. Identifies necessary repairs or maintenance. Completes maintenance or schedule repairs with approved contractors. Identifies and schedules grounds keeping tasks.
  • Inspects security equipment and monitors alarms.
  • Schedules and supervises set-up and teardown for special events, such as college ceremonies, airline visits, student visits and student orientation.
  • Hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates performance of student line service representatives.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Some college coursework from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three year's relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Required other

  • Valid driver’s license, allowing airport operations driver’s license.

Physical requirements

Moderate work occasionally working in difficult position or with physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials from 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving materials greater than 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed with exposure to any number of elements which may occasionally require some precautions such as safety glasses, protective clothing, ear protection, etc.
