General summary
Oversees University-wide compliance with Title IX, including coordination, integration and monitoring of policy implementation, adherence to regulations and outreach efforts.
Major duties
- Oversees and monitors impartial investigations into allegations, including sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, intimate partner violence and stalking. Ensures remediation of complaints.
- Oversees the investigation process. Interviews parties and witnesses. Gathers, organizes, secures and maintains confidential and sensitive documents, reports, files and other relevant records. Ensures timely resolution of complaints.
- Coordinates and implements access to a variety of on and off-campus resources to implement interim measures. Provides information and guidance regarding civil rights and grievance processes.
- Develops, implements and coordinates the University’s strategic efforts toward the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence. Develops and provides outreach, education, training and prevention for students, employees and members of the University community. Assists in development and implementation of educational materials, including brochures, posters and web-based information.
- Assists with overseeing Title IX compliance efforts in other University units and offices. Reviews and further develops Title IX and other civil rights policies and procedures.
- Supervises staff and student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years’ relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge of federal and state civil rights regulations relating to employment and education.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
