General summary

Oversees the coordination and advancement of on and off-campus pre-college programs for the University.

Major duties

  • Directs campus-wide pre-college programs and initiatives. Develops appropriate policies and procedures to help ensure compliance for individuals, programs and units working with pre-college students.
  • Coordinates marketing and promotion for programs to increase enrollment of students in the University. Maintains contacts in recruitment databases and the program website.
  • Provides campus-wide training on University policies and practices in the field. Supervises staff and provides leadership for achievement of goals.
  • Secures external funds to conduct research of best practices. Collects and evaluates data on population and program impact. Identifies and recommends areas of opportunity for programs. Collaborates with units to develop new programs.
  • Provides leadership for grant funded programs and writes grants to secure funding. Supervises submission of required state and federal reports. Oversees program budgets.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
