General summary

Oversees all revenue generating fitness programs for the University’s athletic club.

Major duties

  • Develops and grows revenue generating fitness programs and personal training.
  • Recruits, maintains and instructs personal fitness clientele in an individual, dual or group setting.
  • Hires, trains and supervises training and fitness staff. Develops and implements mentorship program.
  • Collaborates with other management on equipment needs and purchases.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three year's relevant experience.

Required other

  • Professional certification in a fitness related field.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
