General summary
Manages the WMU Signature co-curricular student engagement program.
Major duties
- Designs, develops, coordinates and executes the co-curricular student engagement program, including establishment, implementation and monitoring of all functions.
- Recruits and advises students through appropriate coaching, professional development, recognition and encouragement while monitoring student engagement and interest in the program.
- Collaborates with other University units to develop cooperative and mutual beneficial relationships to meet student needs. Generates campus support.
- Initiates a communication plan that is inclusive of strategic planning efforts to appropriate stakeholders and leaders of the University.
- Oversees the creation, development and implementation of assessment to measure effectiveness, efficiency and impact of programs and services.
- Provides sound fiscal responsibility and stewardship while forecasting upcoming needs and trends.
- Leads the program’s advisory board, consisting of faculty, staff and students.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Budget management experience.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
