General summary
Identifies and solicits donors and underwriters for WMUK. Creates, enhances and stewards relationships between constituents and WMUK Radio.
Major duties
- Creates relationships with donors, businesses and organizations for the WMUK Radio station. Coordinates the involvement of leadership staff in strategies and personal visits. Solicits and secures underwriting, sponsorships, gifts and steward donors and clients.
- Writes underwriting and individual gift proposals and agreements. Creates legally compliant scripting for underwriting clients.
- Develops, designs and implements strategies for engaging with donors, businesses and organizations. Ensures effectiveness of underwriting and major gift initiatives.
- Advises staff on utilizing business and organizational partners to support station endeavors and strategize on methods of involvement. Develops and coordinates effective strategies for business and organization partnering in order to support the mission.
- Represents WMUK Radio events, appearances and meetings.
- Collaborates with staff members in order to meet fundraising goals.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desired experience
- Familiarity with FCC regulations.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
