General summary

Manages business and technical aspects of print serials and electronic resources workflows. Configures off-campus authentication for electronic resources, maintains accurate journal activities and coverage and troubleshoots acquisitions and access related issues for print serials and electronic resources of all types.

Major duties

  • Manages electronic resource ledger and fund information in the integrated library system.
  • Generates, analyzes, evaluates and shares customized reports and statistics for departmental heads, faculty and library administration.
  • Collaborates with others in the management of the library's electronic and print continuing resources, including the acquisition, activation, renewal, testing, updating, troubleshooting and supporting of print serials and electronic resources within the integrated library system, vendor interfaces and third-party applications.
  • Communicates with service providers, publishers, vendors, consortia, content providers, the University community and library administration to gather and disseminate information related to acquisition, renewal and cancellation of print serials and electronic resources.
  • Maintains off-campus authentication of electronic resources by testing, troubleshooting and updating configurations.
  • Oversees annual journal and database and journal package renewals, including verifying and resolving title lists, activation and deactivating titles, coverage updates and updating parsers and parser payments for accurate retrieval of electronic resources from third-party platforms.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • One year's relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with business and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and relational database systems.
  • Experience creating regular and rational expressions.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills in a rapidly changing environment.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
