Program Manager Fall Welcome

General summary

Responsible for the coordination of the Fall Welcome program. Plans and implements new student orientation.

Major duties

  • Responsible for planning, executing, and assessing the Fall Welcome Week program. Coordinates with international student programs to include new international students in programming.
  • Sets learning outcomes and creates assessment tools for measuring outcomes. Provides budget oversight for all program expenses.
  • Collaborates with partners across campus to support transition and student success. Develops initiatives for second-year students at Fall Welcome.
  • Organizes student retreats.
  • Provides support for new student orientation planning and implementation. Contributes to training for Orientation Student Leaders
  • Provides support and assistance with transfer student initiatives.
  • Maintains internal and external communication plans and utilizes customer relationship managment software to communicate with students and produce reports. Provides technical oversight and maintenance, of student area as it relates to Fall Welcome and Orientation.
  • Hire, train, evaluate and supervise student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Experience in planning and implementing programs and conducting program evaluations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the institution's technology platforms.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
