General summary
Responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing educational programs related to diversity and inclusion for the University community.
Major duties
- Coordinates logistical and administrative details for diversity education programming, including processing payments.
- Administers assessments of programming for alignment with program goals and continuous improvement, evaluates methods of delivering programming, researches best practices and makes recommendations for program improvements.
- Collects and maintains data and accurate program documentation for reports. Assists with program development.
- Generates marketing and promotion of diversity education programming in line with marketing and strategic communications guidelines.
- Initiates correspondence and coordinates events in collaboration with internal and external partners in observance of heritage months.
- Co-facilitates workshops and presentations to University constituents related to inclusion, equity and social justice concepts.
- Serves as a resource for registered student organizations planning diversity-related programs and events.
- Collaborates and communicates with University constituents to establish and maintain engagement and support for diversity education programming. Serves on divisional and campus-wide committees and teams with inclusion-focused tasks and outcomes.
- Assists in maintaining the content of the department’s website.
- May supervise student employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Experience working with diverse constituents and with historically underrepresented populations in higher education.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
