General summary
Responsible for the inventory, issuance, and utilization of all aircraft parts along with maintaining aircraft logs and records.
Major duties
- Organize, order, ship, receive and monitor all aircraft parts per the Federal Aviation Administration Parts Manufacturer Approval certifications and monitors inventory levels.
- Generates, maintains, reviews and closes aircraft maintenance work orders. Tracks orders and ensures timely delivery in order to ensure timely project completion. Follows up with vendors to confirm or change orders as needed. Updates internal databases with necessary order details.
- Assists the Chief Inspector with the collection, review, analysis, and filing of all aircraft records documentation.
- Submits and tracks warranty claims for fleet aircraft and spare parts inventory.
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance on fleet aircraft, including inspecting and troubleshooting. Maintains databases in fleet aircraft. Compiles reports that track a variety of information ranging from maintenance costs to aircraft usage.
- Ensures that all parts, materials, and supplies used in maintenance and repair of aircraft have proper Federal Aviation Administration Parts Manufacturer Approval and are adequately identified.
- Works closely with the maintenance inspector to complete an examination of parts received. Examines the parts for physical condition and signs of damage.
- Approves and reconciles aviation parts procurement cards. Supports budget personnel with information to reconcile aircraft parts purchases.
- Assists the accounting department and vendors to ensure that invoices are accurate and are paid accordingly.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years’ relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
- Aviation industry experiences.
- Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
- Experience in maintain aircraft maintenance records and parts catalogues.
- Strong attention to detail.
Required other
- Federal Aviation Administration certification in aircraft airframe and powerplant authorization.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
