General summary

Supports the implementation of alumni initiatives and programs in order to engage alumni.

Major duties

  • Supports the implementation of initiatives, communications, events and special project to engage alumni of all ages.
  • Elevates the awareness and perception of the alumni association and the University among constituents.
  • Plans and executes multiple projects, programs and activities as assigned by the department.
  • Establishes relationships with diverse groups of alumni and works towards enhancing communication and visibility among these groups. Responds to alumni communication in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with other staff members as needed.
  • Tracks alumni relations activities in a database.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • One years' relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to provide a high-level of customer service to external and internal candidates.
  • Proficiency in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Familiarity with databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Displays creativity in work.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
