General summary

Directs and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgeau Construction Center Research Center.

Major duties

  • Develops and secures new funding streams for the center.
  • Provides leadership and oversight to the operations of a fully functioning research laboratory.
  • Develops protocols for adding partners and board members to the center.
  • Develops procedures for soliciting research proposals, reviewing proposals, and selecting research projects. Manages research projects.
  • Works with the advisory board to develop themes and select projects.
  • Organizes and oversees workshops, conferences, and seminars for the dissemination of the center’s research products and outcomes.
  • Supervises and trains staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required experience

  • One years’ relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Business operation leadership experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Analytical and planning skills.
  • Budget management experiences including fiscal analysis.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
