General summary

Provides leadership for the development and implementation of organization wide endpoint management strategies for all institution owned devices. Coordinates onboarding and alignment of technology units to ensure a consistent, scalable, and comprehensive approach that supports institutional goals. Leads the development, maintenance, and oversight of technology assets across multiple administrative units to ensure lifecycle management, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment.

Major duties

  • Strategizes and leads the development of centralized imaging and application deployment processes to support scalability and accessibility across the University.
  • Manages organization hardware and software lifecycle, budgeting, and procurement.
  • Develops and enforces comprehensive IT policies and procedures that reflect University standards and align with industry best practices. Fosters a consistent, secure and efficient technology environment.
  • Leads the development and administration of configuration management systems for the standardization of end-user devices.
  • Leads collaboration with the security to design, implement, and maintain institutional information security controls on end user devices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and university-wide risk management strategies.
  • Represents supported departments in ongoing information technology strategies and committees to align departmental resources with institutional goals.
  • Oversees and monitors the compliance and patching of university-owned devices, ensuring adherence to security policies.
  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates performance of information technology staff.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience providing service to Senior Leadership and Administrators.
  • Experience managing and directing external vendor relationships.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends, holidays and on call duty.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
