General summary

Develops, implements, and manages a peer mentoring program.

Major duties

  • Leads bi-annual training and ongoing professional development workshops for peer mentors.
  • Creates and maintains processes and systems for the mentoring program. Evaluates and assesses program outcomes. Collects, analyzes, and formalizes data reports.
  • Initiates a communication plan, using data driven decision making, that encompasses multiple avenues for communication, including social media, texting, video, email and emerging communication technology.
  • Provides sound fiscal responsibility and stewardship for the program’s needs while forecasting upcoming needs and trends.
  • Collaborates with campus offices to build and maintain partnerships to enhance student success. Generates campus support with mentoring and student success messaging efforts.
  • Identifies and resolves personnel and operational issues.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and conflict management.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds. 

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
