General summary
Maintains and purchases inventory that supports customers across campus.
Major duties
- Maintains inventory levels of all maintenance, repair, and operations.
- Oversees the organization of the stockroom. Provides work direction to the stockperson.
- Monitors item usage and ensures item inventory levels are appropriate.
- Manages and reviews various system reports. Analyzes reports, and creates and tracks all purchase orders.
- Organizes invoices and process for payment.
- Maintains, updates and analyzes contracts and bid processes.
- Manages and conducts annual physical inventory process.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Associate's degree or two years' college coursework in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Some relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of inventory control processes, computerized ordering systems and billing processes.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
