General summary

Leads student professional development and success for assigned college.

Major duties

  • Leads strategic planning and implementation for student professional development.
  • Establishes goals, objectives, guidelines, and measures for co-curricular programming, holistically preparing students for professional leadership in health and human services fields.
  • Researches best practices in professional and leadership development, including career readiness, life skills, emotional intelligence, professionalism, success coaching, and well-being.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of best practices and strategies. Establishes policies and procedures to effectively achieve the goal of student professional and leadership preparedness.
  • Collaborates in offering networking events, career fairs and workshops.
  • Cooperates with community health and human services partners, employers, and alumni to develop and grow professional mentoring relationships and career pathways.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of effective strategies in professional and leadership development.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituents.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
