General summary

Responsible for campus-wide outreach for faculty and staff regarding student mental health education, early intervention, and prevention of escalating concerns.

Major duties

  • Directs and implements campus-wide education, prevention and early intervention to faculty and staff around issues related to student mental health.
  • Directs and monitors the campus initiatives, policies, procedures, and education regarding mental health and suicide prevention.
  • Collaborates with departments to provide support and consultation related to student mental health.
  • Manges program budget. Forecasts upcoming needs and trends.
  • Develops and implements communications plans. Uses print and media to educate about campus services and promote mental well-being campaigns.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including active listening

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
