General summary
Provides comprehensive outreach communication and advising to financial aid applicants. Assists with pandemic related professional judgement inquires. Specializes in processing and emergency assistance.
Major duties
- Provides exceptional customer service and advising to students, parents and prospective students. Advises on federal financial aid regulations and guidelines with priority to those impacted by the pandemic or selected for financial aid reconsideration.
- Demonstrates proficiency in relevant legislation, federal student emergency grant programs and institutional funding support.
- Acts as the main point of contact to process all inquiries and outgoing communications for students impacted by pandemic.
- Coordinates outgoing call response campaigns along with counseling forums for students and families on budgeting and debt management techniques.
- Assist individuals regarding outstanding balances that may prohibit degree completion by providing resources for proactive financial solutions or pandemic emergency funding.
- Oversees direct outreach campaigns to financial aid applicants regarding potential aid adjustments due to loss of income during the pandemic.
- Assists with all processing for pandemic impacted requirements, delayed worklists and special projects from supervisor.
- Manages the outreach webpage communication using current information on appropriate federal legislation. Assists with marketing materials on allowable appeals and processes.
- Prepares and analyzes data reports for audit requests and pandemic direct outreach programming.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations pertaining to financial aid programs.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to a wide variety of financial situations.
- Advanced office software skills, including word-processing and spreadsheets.
- Proficiency using and querying databases.
- Solid teamwork skills.
- Customer service skills.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
