General summary

Oversees segment of Multicultural Affairs for Students, including support for student participants and supervision of student employees in order to accomplish objectives. Directors the Mentoring for Success Program.

Major duties

  • Develops, implements and evaluates programs and activities for target populations. Implements all program and services within the program.
  • Manages program budget and prepares financial reports. Ensures financial and budgetary accountability with the department, and assigned departments. Seeks new funding opportunities to enhance programming.
  • Manages strategic execution of the assigned program model elements.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with grant funding regulations. Adheres to grant and department policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all program goals and objectives are implemented and implements quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains and builds relationships with internal and external entities to enhance programs and services. Collaborates with other University departments to pool resources and maximize outcomes.
  • Collects and analyzes program data. Completes and submits all program evaluation reports on scheduled basis.
  • Engages with program scholars to foster a supportive and and effective program. Provides support to affiliated student organizations.
  • Recruits, hires, trains and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with diverse college students.
  • Experience in program development and implementation.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience grant writing.
  • Experience with grant writing and grant administration.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
