General summary
Plans, directs, and manages board initiatives, programs, and strategies for the University’s paper technology foundation. Develops budgets and ensures financial integrity. Oversees daily operations and fosters stakeholder partnerships to support organizational goals.
Major duties
- Advises the Board of Directors to ensure compliance with University policies and foundation bylaws. Develops best practices to support leadership transitions and trains the foundation president on role responsibilities. Guides board leadership on essential tasks, including preparation of board materials and explanation of reports for trustee presentations.
- Manages daily operations of the foundation department and ensures strategic goals are developed and achieved. Develops and oversees an annual operating budget and administers multiple foundation funds to maintain financial integrity.
- Directs strategic planning and projects across key areas including corporate membership, student enrollment, scholarship funding, and curriculum support. Develops and improves events to increase donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
- Leads corporate, alumni, and stakeholder fundraising efforts to support foundation operations. Identifies and secures corporate memberships, develops partnerships with advancement officers, and cultivates donor relationships through targeted events and outreach.
- Serves as point of contact for industry hiring opportunities and coordinates with career services to support student placement. Organizes recruitment events and workshops to prepare students for career engagement.
- Manages corporate membership engagement to ensure organizational value and return on investment. Develops structured outreach and problem-solving strategies to retain partnerships and support long-term sustainability.
- Administers the scholarship program by managing endowment funds, awarding schedules, and student eligibility. Coordinates donor communications and monitors student compliance with engagement requirements. Develops procedures for non-compliance and application waitlists.
- Supports student career development, mentoring, and retention through career preparation activities, coaching, and industry engagement. Coordinates travel to conferences, develops mentoring programs, and creates student-led initiatives to foster community and retention.
- Directs recruitment strategy and supervises program recruiter to achieve enrollment targets. Guides development of industry-focused initiatives and aligns recruitment efforts with University enrollment trends.
- Oversees marketing and communications to promote alumni and corporate partner engagement. Directs content updates and collaborates with University teams to ensure effective outreach across platforms.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Experience providing executive-level project support to a volunteer foundation board, including managing board committees, communications, document preparation, and compliance goals.
- Experience working with executives or non-profit foundations.
- Ability to perform high quality output with little direction.
- Ability to set own goals.
- Ability to continuously seek to offer value to numerous and varied constituents.
Required other
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to navigate manufacturing facilities that may require traversing long distances, ascending and descending multiple levels, and accessing areas with variable temperatures, confined spaces, and elevated platforms, with or without accommodations.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
