General summary

Coordinates, implements, and evaluates student engagement programs that uplift and support social based fraternities and sororities.

Major duties

  • Provides direction, guidance advocacy, counseling and mentoring for students spread across Greek life councils and their respective self-governing chapters. Implements training and development activities through the development of a Greek leadership development curriculum.
  • Maintains and properly administers fiscal responsibility for the Greek leadership curriculum budget.
  • Supervises Greek life graduate assistants who are responsible for assisting the program coordination of the Greek leadership development curriculum and advising and supporting several Greek councils.
  • Ensures that graduate assistants are successfully administering the procedures for the collection of data from the Greek community for proper utilization and reporting.
  • Provides professional development opportunities through coaching and mentoring that will allow graduate assistants to gain the necessary skills needed to be successful in this field of work.
  • Develops, promotes, and directs programs in leadership training, risk management, values integration, diversity education, and other relevant programs that will be beneficial to the entire campus.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures for all student organizations. Executes and decides judicial policies and procedures to maintain integrity and relevancy through appropriate means to hold the Greek community accountable.
  • Stays current on best practices by connecting and collaborating with other Greek life advisors and by researching trends, conducting assessment, and attending professional conferences.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution

Required experience

  • One year's relevant experience.
  • Understanding of student development.
  • Understanding of social fraternal organizations.
  • Experience working with students with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
