General summary

Coordinates, implements, and evaluates student engagement campus-wide programs that uplift and support a positive campus life at the University.

Major duties

  • Assists the director in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to provide support for all student organizations. Effectively execute and adjudicate judicial policies and procedures to maintain integrity and relevancy through appropriate means.
  • Stays current on best practices by connecting and remaining current on trends for event programming by researching trends, conducting assessments, and attending professional conferences.
  • Provide proper professional development opportunities through coaching and mentoring that will allow them to gain the necessary skills needed to be successful in this field of work.
  • Provides direction, guidance, advocacy, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for students affiliated with the University’s primary student boards and the executive boards.
  • Provides direction, coaching, financial resource support, mentoring, training, onboarding and orientation, and cultivation for registered student organizations and advisors.
  • Oversees the space allocation process and access to student organization center for registered student organizations.
  • Maintains and administers fiscal responsibility for the budget for student boards. Serves as the primary booking agent and contract reviewer for all events, small and large scale.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises graduate assistants and student employees responsible for assisting in the program coordination administration of registered student organizations.

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • One year's relevant experience.
  • Understanding of student development.
  • Understanding of social fraternal organizations.
  • Experience working with students with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
